A big year for the Bavaria visit


2014 will be the 25th time that Lt Col Mike Gerrish will have organised and led the Cadet DofE Gold visit to Bavaria. Places fill up very fast on these trips, so if you want to go for Gold in Bavaria, go quickly to Downloads and get your application form, calling letter and a poster.

Expedition Supervisor Training at Ayr


Despite the inclement weather, leaders from 7 different Battalions came together at Ayr for a busy and informative weekends training in how to supervise DofE expeditions

Introductory training at Ayr


Leaders from all over Scotland came together at Ayr to take part in the Introduction to the DofE course run by Lt Col Ed Sandham and his new local tutor staff.

Gold at St James's Palace


Lt General Andrew Graham, President of ACFA, delivered a thought provoking talk when presenting Gold Awards to 50 Army Cadets in the Throne Room at St Jamess Palace on the occasion of HRH Prince Philips 500th Gold Award Presentation. Congratulations to all concerned.


50 years and still going strong


On the occasion of HRH The Duke of Edinburghs 500th GAP, Lt Col Mike Gerrish was presented with a Certificate of Recognition of 50 years service to the DofE by the Chairman of the ACFA DofE Advisory Panel. Mike has made a phenomenal contribution, and continues to do so.

Sussex get Introduction


A very successful Introduction to the DofE course was delivered by Lt Col Ed Sandham and DofE staff of Sussex ACF at Crowborough.

IttDofE at Annual camp


Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire ACF took the opportunity of Annual Camp at Lydd to introduce some of their leaders to the DofE.

Attention all award assessors and verifiers


It will be useful for anyone who is assessing a section of a participants award to be aware of what the verifier is looking for. Please see the verifiers checklist and have this in mind when assessing.

IttDofE in the Midlands


A small but enthusiastic group of leaders was given an Introduction to the DofE by Major Bob Harrison and his team at Bramcote.
